Steyning is a delightful small market town with an interesting
collection of shops to interest the whole family. Your browsing may be
interupted by taking a meal and or drink in one of the excellent pubs, and
there are also several excellent tea rooms.
Parking is free, either on street, or in off-street car
parks which are in easy walking distance of the shops in the High
Street, including Models and Hobbies. The town has a by-pass, so the High
Street is not cluttered by through traffic. The majority of the buildings
in the town centre have an interesting history and the nearby South Downs
give plenty of opportunities for scenic walks.
Look out for the regular Farmers Market (currently the first
Saturday morning each month) and other regular village events, such as
the Christmas shopping night in early December.
Models and Hobbies, like the rest of the village, provides
something for all the family. If the male members of the family are
interested in model railways, slot cars, or diecasts, then perhaps
the ladies will be delighted by the dolls houses and teddy bears. (Or
perhaps it is the other way round!).
Alternatively, Steyning is close enough to the new City of
Brighton & Hove and the towns of Worthing and Crawley to make a quick
visit a relaxing change from the hustle of modern shopping centres
with difficult, expensive or unattractive parking facilities
