The majority of vehicles
used on Brighton & Hove’s Metro 5 service our double deck, but a few journeys
are scheduled for single deckers using these Wright Renown bodied Volvo
B10Bs which received appropriate service branding.

At the deregulation of
bus services in Oct 1986, Southdown’s vehicle requirements changed
overnight and many fleet changes occurred. This is one of several
second-hand Bristol VRTs acquired coming from Devon General and pressed
into service in their NBC red and white livery. It had already had several
owners, being delivered new to Trent (but unused), passing to
Northern General before reaching Devon General!

LATEST NEWS OF BRIGHTON &
HOVE MODEL BUSES
a) CORGI OOC OM44114 – OPTARE SOLO
This long announced model was due to be
released in February 2008, but has been delayed following the production
difficulties experienced by Corgi. Following the acquisition of Corgi
Classics by Hornby Hobbies, the release of new all delayed models have been
rescheduled and this model is now advised to be release during the “Third
Quarter 2008” – ie during July/August/September. PRICE £19.95

b) BRITBUS
ES-07 – SCANIA OMNIDEKKA
This second livery style for the Scania
Omnidekka for Brighton & Hove has arrived in stock – but we are not
satisfied with the quality of these models – all having an excessive gap
between the front wheel and the top of the wheel arch. Britbus and the importers are aware
of this problem and we understand that a further batch is being
manufactured and will be delivered in due course – but no date has been
given. We would recommend that
if you require one of these models that you await the revised version. If you require one of the models
currently in stock, or if you wish to order one of the replacement batch, please contact us. We will not be returning our
defective stock until we have seen that the second batch are an
improvement. PRICE £32.95

Limited Edition “Code 3” model of Brighton Tram
Unfortunately, production of these models has now ceased as a
result of the person who produced them for us moving out of the area. We are hoping to introduce further
